Maggie Van Scoyk

Maggie Van Scoyk is a wanderer, artist, land steward, and Park Ranger.

They have spent the past six years weaving across the country working in the nation’s crown jewels; frequently living in the back of a 1982 pickup capturing the landscapes and making connections with people across the country.

Maggie’s work is intentionally small, and portable out of need. Often working in confined workspaces; many works have been painted at a friend’s kitchen table or while sitting on the tailgate of a pickup truck.

Maggie’s time at Mt. Rainier, Redwoods, North Cascades, Crater Lake and now, Acadia; has inspired them to try to capture those moments of awe experienced in the outdoors where we find ourselves asking, “Is this real life right now??”

Maggie holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Tyler School of Arts in Philadelphia (2005) and currently (AKA for now) resides in Southwest Harbor, Maine.
