Jonathan Quick

I am a studio artist who creates sculpture and jewelry. I received an MFA in Metalsmithing from SUNY New Paltz. For many years, I was a Professor of Fine Arts at Ohio Wesleyan University, where I taught sculpture and three dimensional design. In 2022, I relocated, establishing my home and studio in Lamoine, Maine. My studio practice has always involved metal casting and
fabrication.
I have recently focused on the creation of jewelry derived from forms in nature. Collecting shells and other natural elements on Lamoine beach provides me a visual source that evokes wonder, a sense of beauty, and connection. Molded from natural elements, the jewelry pieces are precise reproductions, faithful in every detail. Jewelry inspired by nature holds a special allure, allowing the wearer a personal connection with the natural world.
