Jennifer Steen Booher

Jennifer Steen Booher is an artist and photographer from Bar Harbor, Maine. Her work explores the intersection of science and history, incorporating observations and concerns about environmental change, cultural history and marine debris.
She has been a Resident Artist with Acadia National Park since 2015, and Artist-in-Residence with the Mount Desert Island Historical Society since 2018.
Her ongoing project, the Coast Walk, a multimedia web-based work combining photography, historical research, and environmental documentation, has won an Environmental Stewardship award from the Frenchman Bay Partners and a Kindling Fund award from SPACE Gallery/Andy Warhol Foundation Regional Regranting Program.
She is currently at work on a book documenting the historic stained-glass windows of Mount Desert Island, for which she has received two Project Grants from the Maine Arts Commission.
